The University Of Mississippi Department Of Legal Studies has created an Executive Cohort Masters Degree Program for practitioners for criminal justice, public safety, homeland security and military professionals. The program will offer a masters degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in “homeland security.” The Program is two weeks in duration, approximately eight hours of instruction per day Monday through Friday. Following the successful completion of the session, students will earn six hours of college credit. The Program consists of 36 hours of instruction which includes six hours of thesis or practicum. As of now, the Program will offer two sessions every summer, and the first session is scheduled for August 3 through August 14 2009.

Interested persons can register on-line at www.olemiss.edu and click on Graduate School for application. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required however; students can take up to six hours of classes until the GRE has been completed. Lodging will be available on campus at a nominal fee. Individuals with any graduate credit can transfer up to six hours into the program.
